Volunteer with the BMF

The BMF is run by people like you – people who love motorcycling. We want to continue to ride motorcycles in ways that we enjoy, and ensure that our children and grandchildren have the opportunity to enjoy this freedom in the future.

To achieve national impact, we need as many voices as possible throughout the UK. As a non-profit organisation, we rely on our members for support and our dedicated community is fundamental to our work.

The BMF’s Management Team, representatives and lobbyists are all volunteers. This means that almost all of your membership fee is dedicated to safeguarding the freedoms and rights of the UK’s motorcyclists.

You can create real change

By getting more involved with the BMF, you can make a very real impact.

You can help the cause of motorcycling simply by spreading the word about the BMF. Letting people know about us makes motorcyclists more visible to policy makers and road designers, creating a positive impact for riders by producing changes in transport plans, awareness of safety considerations and helping the fight against motorcycle theft.

You can also take a more active role in the BMF’s activities, from running events to lobbying authorities. We often need help in analysing public consultations, ensuring motorcyclists are represented at local council meetings and helping to represent us on the BMF show stand.

An opportunity to develop new skills

Volunteering with the BMF is an opportunity to learn something new and gain rewarding experience. You can be as involved as you like, in whatever capacity suits you, and training and guidance will always be provided by our experts.

Be part of the team

By volunteering, you instantly become part of our dedicated BMF team – a great bunch of friends who love nothing more than to ride motorcycles. Together, we can protect the rights of riders and improve things for the future.

You won’t be out of pocket

We appreciate the work our kind volunteers put in and want to ensure that everyone is valued and rewarded. That’s why we make sure that any expenses are paid back to you, such as fuel if you need to travel.

You’re in control

There’s no pressure – you can do as much or as little as you like. Every effort our volunteers make has an impact on the success of the BMF. Your time is valuable, so it’s important you get the most out of taking part.

Enjoy doing what you love

The BMF is a community made up of motorcyclists just like you. When you become a volunteer, you’ll be in a position to meet new friends, enjoy more events and discover endless opportunities to get more out of your riding.

Together we can protect the future of motorcycling

The easiest way to get involved is to attend your region’s next BMF meeting, where you’ll be able to contribute your ideas and help take action to benefit the motorcycling community. Getting in touch with your regional representative is a great place to start.

To volunteer with the BMF, you’ll first need to become a BMF member if you aren’t one already (because of insurance). Once you’ve joined, you’ll then be able to help protect the motorcycling community through a range of voluntary opportunities.

To volunteer or find out more, contact the BMF membership team.

We look forward to welcoming you to the team!
