Tortoise and Hare Run

18/07/2021 - 18/07/2021

Wells Football Club

Wells Classic Motorcycle Club are preparing to welcome entrants from far and wide to their 10th annual Tortoise and Hare Run on Sunday 18th July.

This event is open to motorcycles and scooters for riders of all ages and has three run groups. On the routes, we use point marshals and some signs.

The event is based at and will start from Wells Football Club this year due to issues at The Market Place. The football club is only a short walk into town, and we hope to have the bar open on the Saturday evening.

If you are looking for a great day or weekend, this is the place to be. A limited number of pre-booked entrants with tents/campervans etc are welcome to join us from the afternoon of Friday 16th July and depart on the Monday morning. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

There is also a Premier Inn and a Morrisons nearby, plus more accommodation, campsites etc. in the local area.

We plan a Scenic Social run on Saturday 17th July for those wishing to join us OR you can do your own thing - there is much to see and do in the surrounding area.

The main event is on Sunday 18th July. You can pre-order a Full English or bacon rolls plus ham or cheese ploughman’s lunch etc. for when we return at lunchtime on your entry form.

After lunch, we will go out again and return for tea/cake, awards presentations, raffle etc.

The event raises much-needed funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The club has donated more than £24,000 over the last nine events, and many thanks go to our sponsors, brochure advertisers and the entrants.

For further details and entry forms, please visit www.wellsclassicmotorcycleclub.weebly.com, email tandhwcmc@hotmail.co.uk or send an SAE to C Weeks, 5 Hooper Avenue, Wells, Somerset, BA5 3NA.

Covid-19/Coronavirus

In light of the recent updates, the BMF are currently reviewing all upcoming bmf events.

We have taken the precaution of suspending ticket sales for the time being.

The BMF Management Team will take whatever action is necessary in relation to events and will endeavour to reschedule if the need arises.

However we will be following government protocols and if we are instructed to cancel rather than postpone please be reassured that we will refund all tickets.

We will hopefully be in a better position to update further in the near future.

Thank you for your support and understanding at this difficult time for all of us.

Ride safe and keep well
