Motorcyclist campaign launched before European elections
The ‘Motorcyclists are voters’ campaign has been launched by the Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations (FEMA) ahead of this year’s European elections on May 23-26 2019.
The new campaign seeks to promote the needs and rights of motorcyclists while gaining the attention of parliamentary candidates and incumbent members of the European Parliament in anticipation of the elections this summer.
While this might not seem directly relevant for UK bikers, the BMF reminds our readers and followers that the elections will still have an impact on riders in the UK.
FEMA Communications Officer Wim Taal said: “Our safety and freedom of movement as motorcyclists may well depend on decisions the Members of the European Parliament will take in the 2019-2024 parliamentary session. This is why FEMA is running the ‘Motorcyclists are voters’ campaign, aimed at all parliamentary candidates and at European motorcyclists. In the coming months we will regularly update riders on important issues and hopefully convince them to go out and vote for their preferred candidate.”
