A dedicated day to celebrate Blood Bike riders and their life-saving work has been announced by Volunteer Bikers.

Set for August 16 2019, National Blood Bike Awareness Day is designed to draw attention to the vital service provided by the country’s Blood Bike riders.

The free, out-of-hours support by Blood Bike riders sees the motorcycle-riding couriers delivering essential blood samples and platelets, donor breast milk, patient notes and medical equipment in support of the National Health Service.

Bikers are invited to show their support using the hashtag #BLOODBIKEDAY.
