Burning rubber – setting the world record

avon tyre burnout

The world record for the longest motorcycle burnout has been smashed in spectacular style.

Using a Harley-Davidson Street Rod and an Avon Storm 3D X-M tyre, rider Maciej ‘DOP’ Bielicki pulled a rolling burnout for almost three whole miles.

Doug Ross, Head of Global Motorcycle Sales at Avon Tyres, said: “Avon normally measures the life of its rear tyres in thousands of miles. Our acclaimed sport-touring models, such as the Spirit ST and Storm 3D X-M, usually last for 7,000-10,000 miles of road riding, so we’re not surprised by the tyre’s performance in this challenge.”

The record attempt was made at a specially closed road in Rzesz, Poland during May – the route even included a roundabout which had to be negotiated while still spinning the tyre.
