We met fellow BMF member Steve Smith in our Summer issue of Motorcycle Rider magazine. He had accomplished a gruelling journey across India, raising money for the Down’s Syndrome Association.

This autumn, Steve is challenging himself again – this time on two classic Triumph motorcycles.

Starting on 22 September, Steve will be riding from Stroud to Spain on his 22-year-old Mk1 Speed Triple. He will then take part in the Moto Piston rally – a 500km one-day trip in the mountains, which he’ll be riding on a 50-year-old Triumph Bonneville motorcycle. Then, he’ll have to ride all the way back home again after the competition!

In Steve’s own words “I am more nervous about this challenge than I was before heading over to India last year. I’m still not sure what to expect when I arrive in Santander but I know that the first 48 hours are going to be tough”.

Steve is raising money for both the Down’s Syndrome Association and the Cotswold Down Syndrome Group. So far, he’s has raised more than £1,900.

Good luck Steve!
