Les Trotter update

The TT legend lets us know what he's been up to…

I recently attended the Leighton Hall Sprint near Carnforth on the edge of the Lake District (Sunday 28 September) to help out with scrutinising etc.

Being a new venue, it had not been publicised much, but what a turnout! Hundreds of bikers turned up, but only a few club/trade stands. They asked me to bring along the display I've been hawking around charity gala days, which I duly did (see above picture). It depicts 50 years of my racing career and seemed to attract a lot of interest. That's what I'm reduced to at this time of year – posing instead of racing! I persuaded John Mc Guinness to come along too – he didn't take much persuading!

To the point: I think the BMF stand would have gone down really well; as I said, the turnout was fantastic. I'll give you a heads up next year well in advance, or put me in touch with the local rep and we'll get it sorted.

Keep up the good work.

Best,

Les T
