National BikeSafe Show & Track Experience at Rockingham circuit in July
Building on the success of previous years at Castle Combe, the National BikeSafe Show & Track Experience is being held at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Northamptonshire this year.
Taking place on Saturday July 16 from 10am until 5pm, the track experience day will see more than 300 assessed road ride outs with a Police motorcyclist followed by a 15-minute track experience where riders can take their own bikes out onto the circuit.
There will also be a show taking place alongside the assessed ride outs and track experience, with plenty to see and do including motorcycle stunt rider displays, manufacturer and dealer displays/trade stands and family attractions such as bouncy castles.
Spaces for the BikeSafe and track experience are being sold for £35 and can be booked by clicking here. This also includes entry to the show, which will cost £1 to enter for those not taking part in the BikeSafe/track experience.
See below some important guidelines from the organisers regarding taking part in the BikeSafe assessed ride and track experience:
To take part in the assessed ride and track experience riders are required to hold a full motorcycle license (restricted is acceptable) and have a machine that is capable of maintaining the national speed limit.
Riders taking part in the assessed ride which includes the “Track experience” are required to wear for the track:
- One piece leathers or two piece leathers zipped together with a three quarter zip, and include a back protector. Full face helmet, flip front accepted in closed position, cuffed gloves and boots offering ankle protection.
- CaliforniaSuperbikeSchool will provide suitable leathers free of charge for use on the track on the understanding that they are replaced at full cost by the user if damaged. (Subject to availability and fit)
- Riders are encouraged to arrive with their own suitable protective clothing.
- For anyone taking part in an assessed ride on the road without the Track Experience, there is no requirement for leather provided suitable protective clothing is worn.
Rockingham has a strict noise restriction of 105db static (around 95db driveby at 20 metres) which will be in place on the day. It is the sole responsibility of you, the rider to ensure your machine complies with this requirement.
