The brand new and self-renovated headquarters of local charity, North West Blood Bikes will be unveiled during its grand opening at 11:00 December 3 2017. Patron and World Superbike Star Carl Foggy Fogarty will be cutting the ribbon at the event, amongst much anticipation from the volunteers of the charity who have been transforming the empty shell into a practical and purpose-built headquarters.

The new unit at Bamber Bridge, Lancashire was acquired from South Ribble Council in June this year. The group of volunteers, which supports local NHS trusts in the North West by providing free transportation of urgent and emergency items between hospitals, was led in the project by member and local businessman Scott Miller.

Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty praised the commitment of the volunteers whilst hoping to inspire others to get involve, saying: “It’s a great thing to do and they need help from everyone.”

It has not been as straightforward as the charity had hoped, with a new floor requiring installation by experts. However, once this was completed, they were able to swiftly progress thanks to the wide range of DIY skills that the members possessed.
