Raids by Merseyside Police as part of a targeted operation cracking down on serious and organised crime have recovered two suspected stolen motorcycles.

After raids carried out under the force’s Operation Target, seven people in the Kirkby and Huyton areas were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm, criminal damage, immigration offences and other crimes.

A statement by Merseyside Police confirmed that “In addition to these arrests, we also recovered a large quantity of cash, a number of weapons, two suspected stolen bikes and a substance believed to be a controlled drug.” Photographs of two motorcycles, bundles of cash and a pistol were shown on the force's website.

Welcoming the operation’s success, T/Inspector Jon Coote from the Knowsley Targeted Policing team said: “We are really pleased with how the operation went and want to thank those who have already spoken to us and shared information about criminality in their area and encourage others to do the same. I would continue to urge anyone else that hasn’t already done so to reach out to us.”
