Two vintage-style electric motorbikes have been launched by US automotive startup Tarform Motorcycles.

Headquartered in Brooklyn, Tarform was founded by Taras Kravtchouk with an aim to produce zero-emission premium motorbikes with classic design.

The portfolio includes a café racer and a flat-bar scrambler. Both electric motorbikes carry a $18,000 (£14,000) price tag.

The company are yet to release any specifications on torque, range or battery power. However, the motorcycles are designed with rider assistance and smart monitoring.

Mr Kravtchouk said: “We look to revive the classic form, and unite it with modern day technology to create a new riding experience; an electric vehicle that embodies the spirit of craftsmanship, advanced manufacturing and clean technology.”

Production models of both bikes are currently being developed and are scheduled to be presented in 2019 along with technical specifications. Manufacturing is set to begin late 2019.
