BMF at National Courier awards
L-r – Junior Transport Minister David Jamieson,BMF ’ Trevor Magner,Sharon Nash and Graham Wade
For the 2002 National Courier awards I was again on the panel of judges. Short-listed candidates were assessed and the awards made at a ceremony at the Institute of Directors on 25 June. Main organiser Tracy Worth has subtly changed the format and judging was subject to secret ballots to prevent leaks about winners. One thing that hasn’t changed is the involvement of Riders Rights Groups in the judging. The BMF presence comprised Chairman Sharon Nash, London Regional Chairman Graham Wade and myself. Steven Norris, President of the MCIA, made a speech and the awards were presented by Junior Transport Minister, David Jamieson.
Carl Lomas, boss of Camelot Courier Training was awarded an MBE on the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Birthday Honours List for his services to courier training – Camelot was the first with NVQ qualification for trainees.
