Bike sales outlets to reopen on June 1
The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) has confirmed that sales outlets for Powered Two-Wheelers and associated accessories can reopen as of Monday 1 June 2020.
In a bulletin seen by the BMF, the MCIA confirmed that discussions with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Skills had resulted in the clarification after initial announcements about reopening dealerships focussed on car-oriented businesses.
However, the MCIA also noted that this step only applies in England. Separate local regulations which may differ will apply in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The MCIA noted in their bulletin that: “This is excellent news for our industry and we look forward to vehicle, clothing and accessory sales quickly ramping up to their pre-Covid levels and beyond. This date coincides perfectly with launch of the Industry Reboot media campaign which launches on June 3, about which more details will be released soon.“
