Devitt survey shows bikers break stereotypes

Published on 19 April 2018 by Robert Drane

BMF Corporate Member Devitt surveyed more than 2,400 road users to see how motorcyclists and drivers perceive each other.

It revealed that stereotypes against motorcyclists are still a concern, with 99% of car drivers viewing motorcyclists as not being family friendly. In comparison, half of the surveyed motorcyclists said they had ridden with family members and 22% with their children.

The survey also showed that riders rank safety as a far higher priority than drivers do, and more than half of drivers discourage their children from riding motorcycles.
