The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) has announced that it will be permanently moving its scheduling as of next year to help more people attend.

A global biking event that raises awareness and funds for men’s health, the DGR has raised $24m since it was established and has seen rides held in 104 countries so far.

It has traditionally run on the last Sunday in September, which usually coincides with suitable whether where it was founded in Australia. However, now that the DGR has become a global event, this often meant that it coincided with poor weather in other parts of the world and so affected the number of people who could attend.

As of 2021, the event will move to May instead to help solve this problem and next year’s ride will be held on May 23. A statement on the DGR website said: “Put that date in your calendars and prepare to celebrate 10 years of DGR. We’re working on making it the biggest year yet, and are determined to be able to celebrate this occasion in true dapper style!”
