World-famous DJ Carl Cox has sprinkled stardust on the P&H Motorcycles team this year. With sponsorship from Carl, and some spectacular performances from experienced riders Leon Morris and Dennis Hobbs, P&H Motorcycles have claimed the prestigious Dealer Championship title with three rounds of the 2014 Ducati TriOptions Cup still remaining. As a Ducati rider himself, Carl has been a customer and friend of P&H for many years. Becoming a sponsor was the logical development of a lifelong passion – but could Carl have foreseen the level of success achieved by the P&H team this year?

“The way the guys have been performing this year is simply incredible,” he says. “I’ve helped the P&H team out for a while, but this year we’ve really stepped it up and the results have been unbelievable with so many podiums and wins. I don’t think it’s premature to say that it is looking like either Leon or Dennis will win the title this year, and hopefully we can build on that in the future.”

P&H certainly seem to have built a winning team thanks to the superstar’s support. But when did he discover his passion for bikes?

“Bikes are something I’ve always been into and I can’t tell you how much I love them,” he enthuses. “Back in 2007 I bought a Honda Superbike and that changed everything. It showed me what a bike can do and I’ve never been bored since.  Ducati is my favourite brand – I’ve got a garage full of them, including a Desmosedici which is incredible!”

Aside from building on a successful season with P&H, what’s the next step in Carl’s foray into the world of motorcycling? To carry on spending as much time as possible with his beloved bikes, he says. “I have a big passion for racing, getting to as many MotoGP or BSB rounds as possible. I even run a sidecar outfit in New Zealand who are coming over to compete at the TT next year!” That’s certainly music to our ears.
