Transport for London (TfL) has launched a free online tool to help motorbike owners determine whether their vehicle will incur a surcharge when entering an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).

The online checker confirms the Euro emissions standard of any vehicle ahead of the UK’s first ever ULEZ becoming effective in London from April 8 2019. The platform assists motorists in understanding how they will be affected by measures to reduce nitrogen dioxide (NO2) levels when they commute.

Motorcycle models manufactured before 2007 could be liable to pay the £12.50 levy each day they travel within the ULEZ.

Following the initial launch of the ULEZ in the capital in four months time, five Clean Air Zones (CAZ) will be introduced by 2020, including Birmingham, Leeds, Southampton, Derby and Nottingham.

You can check the Euro emissions standard of your motorbike here.
